Children’s Christian Education

At Grace Church we hold on tight to God’s covenant promise to be a God to us and to our children after us (Genesis 17:7). We want our children’s spiritual foundations to run deep, providing stability and protection. With training to set their minds on God’s truth and anchor them to resources that have strengthened the Church for centuries, we believe our children can stand strong when their faith is tested by doubt and the storms of life.

In Sunday school our covenant children are being receiving instruction through Bible memory, Bible stories, hands-on learning, and life applications of spiritual truths found in the Apostles’ Creed, the Ten Commandments, and the Lord’s Prayer, Building Little Pillars (the curriculum we are currently using) lays a firm foundation for covenant children as they begin their journey of faith.

We also take the Apostle Paul’s command in Ephesians 6:4, that parents are to bring up covenant children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (see Deuteronomy 4:9 also) seriously. To help them do this, we have a time-tested memory work notebook for children ages 2 through 12. You can find it here.

You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul,
and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand,
and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
You shall teach them to your children,
talking of them when you are sitting in your house,
and when you are walking by the way,
and when you lie down, and when you rise.
~Deuteronomy 11:18–19
